Dear Parents/Guardians and Community Members,

We will be holding our 7th Annual History Fair this May at the Brownstone School. This event is modeled after the National History Day theme, which this year is "Turning Points in History: People, Ideas, and Events." Students become writers, artists, and researchers as they participate in a year-long academic program focused on historical research, interpretation, and creative expression. The Fair is a celebratory culmination of the project, where students are given the opportunity to create and exhibit their historical projects using creative formats that include posters, exhibits, and PowerPoint presentations. Students from over twelve of our programs will be participating in this year's event, and I'm looking forward to visiting with them to discuss their projects.

It's hard to believe that another successful school year is coming to an end. While students prepare for their Moving Up ceremonies or Graduations, faculty and staff are planning end-of-school activities to celebrate spring and the upcoming summer vacation. Our sites that provide Extended Year Programs have finalized this year's academic, technical, therapeutic, and creative offerings.

On behalf of the Administration, Faculty, and Staff of Bergen County Special Services, I wish all of our Graduates and their families the best of luck in the future. I look forward to seeing all of our returning students and families in the fall and welcoming our new students and families to the district.

Have a wonderful Summer!

Sincerely,
