Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
On November 9 we were proud to host a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to officially celebrate the opening of the Bergen County Special Services Educational Facility and the Administrative offices of the Bergen County Technical and Special Services School District. It was a beautiful day and we thank the many supporters who joined us in the celebration. Many thanks to our students from New Bridges and our Adult Day program clients for their invaluable participation in the event. Please see the main page of our web site to read about the ceremony; it contains a link to the article that appeared in The Record as well.
We are busy preparing for our annual Bergen County Special Education Expo, which will take place this year on December 11. Three workshops will be offered this year, including topics on meeting state mandates for students with reading disabilities including dyslexia, and IEPs. The event will be held at the Brownstone School in Saddle Brook. We encourage special education professionals to attend this informative event by registering online at http://cape.bergen.org.
Our students and staff are getting into the holiday spirit, with many programs planning their Thanksgiving festivities. On behalf of the administration, faculty, and staff of Bergen County Special Services, I wish everyone a peaceful and joyous holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year.
Howard Lerner, Ed.D.
