The students of Venture explore sources of food cultivation. By visiting the Apple Orchard/ Pumpkin Patch, the students interact with authentic natural surroundings to view the impact of sunlight, precipitation, and nutrients on the growth, development, and the harvest yield of crops. Students participate by walking through the fields, examining the produce, picking the crop, and enjoying the day.
In Language Arts Literacy the students are learning about their ancestor’s country of origin by researching three authors from different genres of that country. The students are working diligently creating a short biography, and explaining what intrigued them the most about that author. The students also needed to generate five thought provoking questions they would like to ask that author in an interview. The project was for International Day and the students gained a new awareness about their families.
