Mrs. Presslaff’s and Mr. Mattison’s students in the Home Care Curriculum have been busy maintaining the Blue House. Thursdays are our cleaning day where we dust, sweep, vacuum, and mop. We complete laundry on a regular basis in order for our Springboard cooking classes to have clean towels and table cloths. In beginning sewing, we have been introduced to threading a needle, knotting the end, and replacing missing buttons. We’re working on making a new table runner for our dining room.
Our group internship sites are well underway. We’ve done office work at The Knights of Columbus, straightened the ballrooms at The Royal Manor and assisted cashiers with bagging groceries at ShopRite. Toys R Us keeps us very focused with restocking returns and unpacking new orders. We’re learning the layout of the store. The December holiday season begins before Halloween and we’ll be very busy.
