BCSS Assistive Technology Department At Bergen County Special Services, Assistive Technology (AT) is used to support students in accessing the curriculum and to support literacy learning. We specialize in AT for communication, access, literacy and numeracy. Our technology supports students with needs in reading, writing, understanding curricular materials, and communication. For example, we use word prediction software to help students put their thoughts into writing; math processing software to help students who cannot use paper and pencil to do math problems; and augmentative communication devices to assist students with speech and language disabilities.
