Increased national attention is being paid to the needs of transition-age youth and young adults living with mental health conditions. The time is long overdue. It is this need that led NAMI to collaborate with a group of young adults in creating strengthofus.org.
This newly launched website consists of a user-driven social networking community and on-line resource center uniquely designed for youth and young adults. It allows them to connect with peer, to share information and to provide mutual support.
Stengthofus.org users can share personal stories, creativity, blog entries and status updated on "The Wire," along with much more.

Care Plus New Jersey is offering a program for youth 12-18 years of age who show difficulty with anger and other impulsive behavior. The Family Resource Network and its affiliate organization, Autism Family Services of New Jersey, will host an annual beach bash and surf camp in conjunction with Surfer's Healing. Surfer's Healing has expanded its New Jersey Camp to include 60 children with Down Syndrome! The one day surf camp is free to attend and each child will receive one on one surf lessons with professional surfers. Deadline for applications is July 15, 2010 and spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
