Behavioral Skills Continuum - Gateway Padovano High School Gateway Padovano High School (GPHS), located on Main Street in Hackensack, is a departmentalized secondary alternative program that is based on National Reform models and School-To-Career initiatives. The program is designed to educate students with learning and behavioral disabilities with a need for improved coping and/or social skills. Students receive Individualized Education Plan (IEP)-driven and as-needed counseling. Character education is also incorporated into the schedule. The students typically can benefit from smaller classes and more individualized attention academically. Students benefit from hands-on and real life learning as well as community-based instruction. Through our partnership with Hackensack Public Schools, some GPHS students also participate in specific academic or elective mainstream classes at Hackensack High School. |
