Autistic Continuum - Washington Livingston Program
Washington @ Livingston educates elementary students age seven to nine who are classified with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger's Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified. Located within Mount Pleasant Elementary School in Livingston, New Jersey. the program provides comprehensive Applied Behavior Analysis teaching methodologies in a traditional school environment, offering students a transition model toward the least restrictive school setting. Emphasis on higher-order language, social skills, and self-regulation is a priority.

Technology at Washington@Livingston Technology at Washington@LivingstonTechnology @ Washington@Livingston The students and staff at Washington@Livingston have initiated a podcasting project to provide students with instant access to social stories, modeling video clips, exercise routines, and instructional routines for individualized homework assignments. The podcasts will be accessible to the student whether they are at home, school or in the community through the use of an iPod. Through use of instant recording abilities, the student can prepare for a new situation quickly. |
