NJQSAC Results - BCSS Designated a High Performing District by the Commissioner of Education

This year the Bleshman students and staff honored the heroes of September 11, 2001 by creating a “Tunnel to Towers” walk. Students and staff honored and remember all our fallen especially firefighter Stephen Siller. Stephen’s story is truly amazing and justifies the real meaning of a Hero. Stephen was a firefighter is Brooklyn. Stephen was preparing for a day on the golf course when he heard the horrific news about the attack. Stephen jumped into his car and drove to the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. The tunnel was already closed, but this did not deter Stephen who then flung his 60lbs. of gear onto his back and ran through the tunnel to the Twin Towers, where we sadly gave up his life while saving many others. At Bleshman, Patriot Day has become a day to honor and remember our fallen, and this year students and staff did just that.
