The mission of the Bergen County Special Services School District (BCSS) Resource Center is to serve individuals with disabilities from infancy through adulthood as a central point of contact for guidance and connection to accessible and appropriate resources. The Center is committed to helping individuals and families access the system of resources to enrich all aspects of life.
One of the greatest challenges facing families and individuals is learning to navigate the system of services for people with disabilities throughout their lifespan. As a result, we opened the BCSS Resource Center, a one-stop-shop open to anyone who is involved in the special needs community. During its inception, the BCSS Resource Center received a great deal of feedback from parents throughout the Bergen County region that they continue to experience difficulty in navigating "the system." While many of our case managers assist the parents of students who attend our district school programs, the BCSS Resource Center thus becomes the "clearinghouse" of knowledge of disability resources throughout the region.
