into the learning environment at the Norman A. Bleshman Regional Day School. As a means of expanding the use of technology in engaging our Norman A. Bleshman Regional Day School Students in the learning environment, NAO humanoid robots have been incorporated into our functional academic programming. Teachers/ therapists along with our District Instructional Technology Coach utilize Choregraphe, AIR NAO and ASK NAO (Special Education software) in presenting academic lessons that incorporate therapeutic (Physical, Occupational and Speech) IEP objectives/ activities.  Teachers utilize this software in order to design lessons and support instruction that is individualized to meet all students’ needs. Affectionately named Bob, Max, Viola and Norman, the NAO robots support student engagement, i.e., academic, social and prevocational goals/ objectives, in the educational setting.  At varying levels, students are engaged via exposure to basic robotics interactions through basic programming practices.
