sophie campanioniMrs. Sophie Campanioni started with Bergen County Special Services in 1994 as a teacher assistant in the classroom and then moved to work in the office as a clerical assistant. She was responsible for the lunch programs for both the Washington South and Montesano Schools which were, at that time, housed in the Montesano Building. When the two programs separated, Mrs. Campanioni remained in the Washington South Program. After some time, she returned to the classroom as a teacher assistant at the Washington Emerson Program. Finally, she was assigned to the BELA Preschool Program where she has been for the last few years. In each of these locations, students and staff enjoy working with her every day. Mrs. Campanioni works with students in a very nurturing and caring manner and they love her for it.

Throughout her time with BCSS, Mrs. Campanioni has worked with diverse learners across our various continua and has always met the challenge. She looked at each new experience as an opportunity to grow and to have a positive impact on the lives of our students. She will certainly be missed; however, her dedication and devotion to the students will long be remembered.

The Bergen County Special Services School District and Board of Education would like to thank Mrs. Campanioni for her years of dedication and wish her a long, happy and healthy retirement.
